Warm Modernism
The King’s College Interior Project is the remodelling of a contemporary new-build detached house in Belsize Park. The client approached us to rework the interior architecture in order to introduce a sense of warmth and comfort within a distinctly contemporary space.
The design carefully preserves the existing modernist character of the house, while softening it through a restrained and elegant material language. A minimalist approach is combined with a rich palette of warm wood panelling, inspired by the atmosphere of 1960s Brazilian modernism. The use of smoked timber and warm natural stone adds depth and tactility, creating interiors that feel both sophisticated and inviting, while remaining true to the building’s contemporary identity
