The Strathray Gardens Project is an interior architecture refurbishment of an apartment within a historic Queen Anne Revival–style building in Belsize Park. The apartment originally formed the principal floor of the house and remains one of the most distinguished units in the building, characterised by its grand proportions, generous ceiling heights, and surviving original cornicing.
The design concept focuses on re-establishing the original sense of grandeur and scale of the space, while introducing carefully considered contemporary interventions. New elements are expressed in a clearly modern language, allowing them to sit in deliberate contrast to the historic fabric and to highlight both the original architectural features and the newly added components. The result is a balanced dialogue between heritage and contemporary design, enhancing the character and elegance of the apartment
