The Buckland Crescent Project is an extraordinary engineering intervention that embraced the challenge of transforming a ground floor apartment into a stunning garden retreat.
Located in the heart of Belsize Park in London, this project involved the renovation of a ground floor flat that was once part of a grand stucco Victorian house, and the creation of an entirely new basement level to accommodate all the bedrooms.
Landscape
A major part of our design approach is the soft-landscape design of the outdoor spaces, which are directly connected to our interiors. Inspired by the traditional romantic English garden, we combine rich planting with a contemporary, efficient layout for garden furniture and outdoor living.
These spaces are designed to be enjoyed throughout the year, with carefully selected greenery and planting schemes developed in collaboration with our trusted garden and landscape designers.
The brief for this project was to create a very elegant and comfortable urban retreat for everyday living. The design includes all essential modern comforts, such as a mechanical ventilation system to ensure a constant supply of fresh, high-quality air, and an air-conditioning system to maintain optimal indoor temperatures throughout the year.
The systems were meticulously integrated within the joinery and architectural elements to achieve a clean, seamless, and elegantly refined design.
Interiors
Natural Stone
A precise selection of natural stone throughout the property helped us create a warm and inviting atmosphere in every part of the apartment, adding richness and character to the overall design.
