Brief

The Carlisle Road project is a full refurbishment of a Victorian terraced house in Belsize Park, London, including a rear extension and loft conversion. The client approached us with a clear ambition: to create a new home within the shell of a derelict terraced house. Our concept was to redesign the layout of all rooms as a blank canvas, using only the existing external walls and windows as constraints.

The result is an exceptionally efficient home, featuring extensive built-in storage in each bedroom and intelligently divided spaces. The ground floor has been opened up completely, extending the full length of the house, creating a dramatic, unexpected sense of space despite the property’s narrow width

Concrete

With a specific request from the client for the kitchen island to become a sculptural centerpiece, we designed a bespoke concrete island featuring a dramatic cantilevered form. Engineered to extend over 2.2 meters from its base, the island required a unique structural solution developed in close collaboration with our engineering partner. The result is a striking piece that combines architectural drama with technical ingenuity, becoming a true focal point of the space.
