Urban Infill
A residential development comprising six terraced houses in the heart of the Highgate Conservation Area. The design responds sensitively to the area’s historic architectural character, combining traditional proportions and high-quality materials with contemporary detailing to create a cohesive and distinctive residential scheme.
Composition
The design explores a composition of volumes inspired by the randomness and historical layering that characterise Highgate’s built environment. Reflecting the gradual evolution of the village over centuries, the proposal brings together varied forms, proportions and architectural expressions to evoke buildings from different periods in history. Rather than adopting a uniform approach, the scheme seeks to reinterpret the richness and diversity of Highgate’s historic townscape through a carefully composed yet deliberately irregular arrangement of volumes, creating a contemporary response rooted in the area's distinctive architectural character.
